Rita Moran

Rita M. Moran, age 87, of Stafford Springs previously of the greater Bridgeport area, beloved wife of 36 years to the late Howard Moran, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Dubee DuBour, and an area resident for more than 80 years. Rita moved to Stafford Springs five years ago. A veteran of World War II, she served in the Wavs. A retired secretary for Warnaco where she had worked for more than 25 years and was a member of their Quarter Centruy Club. An active individual, she supported St. Ann's Church and had been a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the B.P.O.E.-Elks Lodge of Bridgeport. Survivors include her devoted children, Kathleen M. Bachiochi of Stafford Springs, Patricia Poniros and her husband, Andrew, of Stratford, Susan Sheehy of Bridgeport; six grandchildren, Matthew Bachiochi and his wife, Kathleen, Kelly Chollet and her husband Eddie, and Mark Bachiochi, Dean and Sarah Poniros and Jo Ann Goldsmith; two great-grandchildren, Mathis Chollet and Connor Bachiochi; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Friends are invited to go "Directly" to St. Ann's Church, Brewster Street, Bridgeport, on Saturday at 10 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated followed by interment in St. Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours are on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport.
