Angelo Pegnidopoulos age 58 of Shelton passed away suddenly on Friday, October 14, 2022.
He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1964, and lived there until he moved to Fairfield, Connecticut in 1975. He graduated from Andrew Warde High School and was awarded a full-tuition Headmaster Scholarship to Fairfield University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree.
After college, Angelo bought a house in Shelton, Connecticut, and for several years worked as a lab technician at a lab that provided anatomic pathology services to physicians and hospitals. He then went on to work in car sales for over 20 years because of his lifelong love of cars.
He liked the older Buicks and actually owned a few of them over the years. His friends and family would tease him about driving these cars, but it didn’t bother him. He didn’t care for any of the frills of the newer cars. He did love Corvettes. His pride and joy was his 2004 Corvette. He looked forward to taking Sunday rides in it, with the top down, hitting the local car shows.
Angelo was an extremely kind, caring, gentle soul who was well-liked by everyone who met and knew him. He enjoyed being around family and friends and always came to any holiday or family function with a big chocolate cake in hand.
Angelo also had a large group of high school friends with whom he continued to stay in touch and get together with over the years. They say he had a way of making up his own words for certain things, and that they still use a lot of those words today, especially when they all get together.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Angelo was predeceased by his parents Haralambos and Helen Pegnidopoulos, aunts Anastasia Andriotis and Cleo Andriotis, and first cousin George Andriotis.
He is survived by his uncle Nicholas Andriotis of Greece, uncle Demetrios Andriotis of Trumbull, first cousins, Frank Andriotis of Greece, Toula Magi, and her husband Glen of Trumbull. Effie Andriotis-Brooks, and husband Mickey of Trumbull, his beloved Goddaughter, Lexie Magi, Manny Andriotis and several other cousins.
The Rite of Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:30am in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, with Fr. Georgios Livaditis, Presbyter, officiating, followed by interment at the Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Calling hours will take place on Friday morning from 10:30am until time of service in the church. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport has been entrusted with the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church Iconography Project in memory of Angelo.
