Obituary for Carl Morales Jr.

Carl Morales, Jr., born July 20, 1929 in New York City, NY, rests eternally in peace after having enjoyed 90 years of a full and healthy life-style. He is pre-deceased by his parents Carmelo Morales and Angelina Cabrera, NYC, NY. He is survived by his daughter, Gail M. Solis of Bridgeport and son Carl Morales-Mas of Tennessee, companion-friend Candida Eloisa Cardona, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Having been raised in Puerto Rico by his paternal grandmother, and despite a poverty stricken life, Carl worked diligently to achieve success. Later in life, he attended evening classes and graduated from Stamford High School with his GED. He relocated to Bridgeport, CT where he was employed by ACME Shear, Bridgeport, CT, 1945-1957, as Department Assistant.

In 1973, Carl Morales, Jr. ran for Councilman-at-large, South Norwalk, CT, was Member of the Norwalk Fair Rent Commission, and Board Member of N.E.O.N., Norwalk’s anti-poverty program. Carl worked 17 years at COOK’s Laboratory, Inc., South Norwalk as Plating Division Manager in Electroforming starting in 1957 retiring in 1990. He had moved to Broward County, FL for 30 years and returned to CT in 2015.

Carl Morales, Jr. completed a technical program in Electro and Electroless Metal Plating at Yale University; and in 1965 became member of the American Society of Electroplaters, Bridgeport Branch.

*Citation: Puerto Rican Parade Organizer, Norwalk, CT, 1977.
*New Haven College, New Haven CT, Real-estate Certificate, 1967.
*Spanish Translator for Adult Education and GED Program, City of Stamford, 1965-1972.
*Conducted orientation classes in legal documents translation for Spanish-speaking people, South Norwalk, CT, 1965.

At age 74, Carl Morales, Jr. took Computer Courses in Broward County FL, “just to keep mentally active”. God Bless You; Rest in Peace.
