IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Monserrate Antonia Rodriguez Segara Latorre, born in Lajas Puerto Rico on September 08, 1921 of the late Antonio Rodriguez & Delores Segara Rodriguez.

Monsi, Our sweet loving caring Mother, passed away peacefully at the beautiful age of 98 on September 24, 2019 at 5:27 am at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home, Stratford CT with her children, Lillie Latorre Watkins, Daisy Amelia Latorre Gmitter & Harry Emilio Latorre by her side.

Monsi traveled to America in 1947 where she met this handsome man Pablo Emilio Latorre, they married on September 25, 1948 in Brooklyn New York. Pablo passed away on September 10, 1976. They lived in Brooklyn where their to Beautiful daughters were born on Barry St. They moved in 1956 to Chicago IL then settled in Bridgeport CT in 1957 where their handsome son was born. Monsi work as a seamstress in Stratford CT until her retirement in 1977. She lived at the Barnum House Apartments in Fairfield Ave for 40 years until 2015. Life long member of St Augustine Parish on Washington Ave.

Monsi is survived by Lillie Latorre Watkins her husband George Watkins. Daisy Amelia Latorre Gmitter, Late Husband Frank Gmitter. Harry Emilio Latorre & Leonor Latorre Reales, Grandchildren: aka… Wella’s beautiful grand-babies! Tiffany Alexandra Watkins “Princess:, Fiancé Michael Burton of Las Vegas NV, Zachary Andrew Watkins Fiancé Stephine Williams of Bedford TX, Joy Ann Watkins Hume Husband Neil Hume of Highland Park NJ, Quincy Darnel Watkins of Irving Texas, Erik Francis Gmitter of Hamden CT, Dillon Nicholas Gmitter of Naugatuck CT, Rey Jose Latorre Reales of Bonita Springs FL. Great Grand Children: Quincy Watkins Jr, Jaylen Watkins, Isaiah Nelson, Rebecca Hume, Andrew Hume & Kaliyah Watkins, Granddog Charlie Emilio Latorre who visited her biweekly giving her and the residents of the second floor much joy.

Calling hours for Monsi will be held at the Commerce Hill Funeral Home 4798 Main St, Bridgeport CT 06606 on Monday, September, 30, 2019 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at St Augustine Cathedral 399 Washington Ave, Bridgeport CT 06604 at 10:00am with Interment at Mountain Grove Cemetery 215 Dewey St, Bridgeport CT 06605.

In lieu of Flowers Donations can be made to the Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home Second Floor Resident Care. We are grateful for the care & love bestowed upon Monsi, aka… Mama for last 4 years. We hope to build a Family Comfort Room for families to gather when private comfort is most needed. Personal Thank You to Bridgeport Hospice Care for providing Monsi’s end of life comforts.
